Eastern Equatoria farmers are to register in order to receive assistance to grow productive crops.
SEED for Development, an organization dealing in agriculture in South Sudan, started training county representatives to register farmers, Radio Emmanuel reported.Facilitator William Iga told the press that over 20 participants came from Torit, Magwi Budi counties to attend the training on Monday.
He said the registration takes place between November 12 and 20.
Mr Iga explained that the enumerators have to register farmers who have at least one Fadden of land in order to receive vouchers to help them grow more productive crops.
Facilitator Denis Tiren called on farmers to cooperate with the enumerators as they are the right people to identify the challenges facing the farming community.
He said the overall objective of the programme was to improve food security and quality of life, and environmental and economic prosperity.
