ORGANIZATION PROMISES AGRICULTURAL CENTRE IN MOROBO

An international group for technical cooperation with developing countries has promised an agricultural demonstration Centre in Morobo County of Central Equatoria.

ACAV vice president, Giorgio Boneccher, visited Morobo County Commissioner to share ideas about activities in Morobo County, the county press secretary told CRN via e-mail.

The Commissioner said the investment was welcomed and the Italian organization was free to work in the County, provided that it registered as an NGO in South Sudan.

ACAV Coordinator Pierluigi Floreta said the aim of the organization was build an agricultural training and demonstration centre in Morobo County.

The project will focus on improving cassava stalks which will be distributed to the community, free of charge.

The organization required a seven-hectare piece of land from the County Administration.

Mr Floreta said the project would kick off in the middle of next year after ACAV was registered.

The organization has operated the same activities in Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo and wants to extend its services to Morobo.

State Member of the parliament, Macca Mustafa, who accompanies the group to the site, encouraged the community to collaborate with the Italian investors.
