An explosion has killed three children and wounded another on Friday in Wunrok Payam of Twic County, Warrap state.
The explosion, suspected to be a landmine, was planted during the civil war, Internews reported.Rehan Kuot Ayuel, a relative of the deceased children, said the weapon exploded when the children were playing.
He says they were all above ten years of age.
Mr Kuot advised parents and guardians to prevent their children from playing with unknown objects.
The area sub Chief Atem Atem called on the government to increase efforts to demine the area.
He asked Twic County local government to assess all areas suspected to hide explosive devices from the war.
