RESOLUTION 1325 REFORM WORKSHOP KICKS OFF IN JUBA

Resolution 1325 dealing with security and rule of law reforms will be under scrutiny in a workshop from Tuesday until Friday in Juba.

The five-day workshop is organized by EVE Women Organization and supported by Resolution 1325-Sweden.

EVE Assistant officer Eva Kiyonggo told CRN that the workshop eyes at implementing Resolution 1325 concerning rule of law and security.

Ms Kiyonggo said the workshop aimed at broadening dialogue and exchange of ideas to strengthen the security sector reform and the rule of law in South Sudan through gender sensitive methods.

She added that the participants would exchange strategic ideas for civil society to get involved in the security sector reform and rule of law.

Ms Kiyonggo explained that the workshop also aimed at developing shared recommendations for the implementation of Resolution 1325.

The workshop is expected to bring together participants from five states of South Sudan.
