The Governor of Western Bahr el Ghazal State denied rumours about an attempt to steal five millions Pounds.
Last week, there were rumours that an official was arrested by the security while trying to sneak five million out of the state hidden in a fridge, Voice of Hope reported.The money would be enough to pay two months of salaries.
Governor Rizik Zachariah Hassan said no money was found inside no fridge and nobody was arrested.
He said Western Bahr el-Ghazal was famous for rumours and accused enemies to try to tarnish his reputation.
Governor Zacharia urged the authorities to correct any wrong information spread among the communities concerning the alleged stolen money.
The governor made the statement after the Jur River County Commissioner and the Advisor for Gender and Minors Affairs took the oath of office on Monday in Wau.
