The Committee for Quality Health Service in Western Bahr El Ghazal closed down three private clinics for not meeting required minimum standards.

The clinics were operating without qualified nurses and doctors as well as valid licenses.

State health minister Isaac Cleto Hassan told journalist that two clinics were closed on Wednesday because they lacked equipment and qualified health personnel.

A third was selling medicines in bulk without a license.

The minister added that the clinics should remain closed until they met the standards to deliver proper health services to the population.

Mr Cleto noted that inspectors found that the medical doctors contacted by the clinics were health ministry employees and by law they could not exercise private medicine before 5 PM.

He added that doctors leave state clinics where they should work during the day for the private clinics evading normal duties.

The banned clinics include South Sudan and Maltap Clinic and Walda Company selling wholesale drugs without license.
