The Assembly Business Committee of Eastern Equatoria Parliament has condemned the way the Council of State summoned Governor Louis Lobong Lojore to Juba over allegations of militia recruitment.

Michael Losike, a member of the Council of States, logged the complaint against Governor Lobong and other senior political figures, Radio Emmanuel reported.

In a two-page press release read Thursday by Speaker Ambrose Emmanuel Ocholimoi, the Committee said that the Transitional Constitution only allowed the Council of States to summon a governor on issues of decentralization and development.

The Committee classified Mr Losike’s complaint as a personal matter.

The Committee charged that the Council of States acted unfairly by not giving the details of the summons to Governor Lobong in time and not allowing his legal advisor to respond.

Eastern Equatoria Assembly Business Committee claimed that Mr Losike was a criminal who escaped from jail.

The Committee called on the Council of States and the SPLM to form a neutral committee to investigate the allegations.
