Western Equatoria State Government decided to reopen its borders with neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo after a health alert was cleared.

Governor Joseph Bangasi Bakosoro issued a decree on Tuesday lifting up the order to close the borders with Democratic Republic of Congo due to an outbreak of Ebola virus, Anisa FM reported.

All the organized forces and security personnel at the border points were directed to hold to the order and all border markets were declared open to business.

The decree followed reports from the World Health Organization in Yambio that there were no new cases of Ebola reported in the affected region of Northern Congo.
