The agreement on four freedoms does not favour the South Sudanese and will affect them negatively.
On Thursday, South Sudan and Sudan signed in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, nine agreements including one on the status of nationals allowing freedom of residence, movement, economic activities and commerce in both countries.Analyst Spencer Kenyi, speaking at Bakhita Radio Wake up Juba morning show, said the deal would be good if South Sudanese were granted the opportunity to own property and work in the Sudan.
Dr Kenyi said if South Sudan approved the agreement of free citizenship, movement and employment without conditions the country could experience big problems.
He added that Sudanese were better qualified than South Sudanese and they would take over jobs.
Dr Kenyi said the implications of the four freedoms agreed by South Sudan and Sudan had to be studied well and some conditions should be put to control claims of citizenship.
He added that before the Sudanese are granted a resident’s permit their aims must be understood.
Many citizens phoned to the show expressing concern on the implications of the four freedoms agreement and jobs in South Sudan.
