The Vicar General of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba has called on the faithful of Saint Vincent de Paul parish in Gumbo to follow the footsteps of their patron saint.
Nichola Kiri Bate told the crowd gathered to commemorate the feast of St Vincent de Paul that the saint dedicated himself to serve the poor, Bakhita Radio reported.The occasion was marked with many speeches, traditional dances and sketches.
The Salesians of Don Bosco ran the parish of Gumbo.
St Vincent was canonized in 1737.
The Catholic Radio Network (CRN) is a media project constituted by community-based radio stations broadcasting in Frequency Modulation from Juba, Yei, Torit, Yambio, Rumbek, Tonj, Wau, and Malakal.
