Floods from heavy rains have affected at least 245 thousand people in South Sudan and three quarters are in Jonglei state.
UNOCHA, United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, said almost 195 thousand people were affected by floods in Jonglei.Lakes State is the second most affected state with almost 24,000 flood victims.
Central Equatoria is the least affected state: only one county out of six has problems with inundation.
In Aweil town, some 2,100 people built temporary houses on the railway and along the roads, after their homes were flooded.
Humanitarian agencies are monitoring the situation and delivering food and medicines by air to the most affected areas.
People are also receiving emergency shelters, household items, safe drinking water and health services.
