St Daniel Comboni Catechists and Teachers Training Institute in Nuba Mountains started preparations to celebrate its day.
Principal Cathy Solano said the staff and students were proud of Comboni’s name and they were preparing and teaching students about his life history. She added that they will celebrate the Day after October 11.
Sr Solano stated that last year’s students did not celebrate the feast due to war, but this year they will.
She added that the celebration includes prayers, entertainment, poetry and drama on things Comboni did while he was in Sudan, especially in Nuba Mountains.
Student Kocholo Sabit said the motto of St Comboni which says “Save Africa with Africans” has greatly come into the hearts of Nubans and they translate it as “Save Nuba with Nubians.”
Mr Sabit advised the youth to study hard so as to have many people learned in spite of war threats.
