The Government is grieving the sudden death of veteran musician and singer Teresa Nyankol Mathiang.
Government spokesperson Barnaba Marial Benjamin said Ms Nyankol’s death was a great loss to the people of South Sudan and particularly to the people of Abyei.He said she wrote inspiring songs during the struggle and told the history of South Sudan and of Abyei through her songs.
Dr Marial said the government was flying Ms Nyankol’s remains to her resting place.
Veteran musician and singer Teresa Nyankol Mathiang died on Saturday at Juba Teaching Hospital.
