ROBBERS TARGET TONJ MISSION

Unidentified robbers broke into the Catholic Mission in Tonj, Warrap State, getting away with a good sum of money.

Salesian Fr Shyjan Job told CRN via e-mail that the robbers came in the middle of the night on Tuesday, entered the compound and locked the doors of two priests and one brother from outside.

They broke into the superior’s room √ɬê who was in Kenya √ɬê and took a good sum of money they found after searching the place in detail.

Fr Shyjan explained that the money included school fees, stationary and uniforms.

He said the thieves remained in the compound between 1:30 AM and 3:45 AM.

The Salesian community in Tonj opened a case with the police and the security people have started the investigation.

Fr Shyjan said those who broke into the house knew the place well, the rooms and who was in and out, targeting only the empty superior’s room.
