LAND COMMISSIONER WANTS TRIBUNAL LAW

The National Land Commission Chairperson said land tribunal law should be enacted to resolve the land cases that are pending in the court in Juba.

Robert Lodu speaking to Bakhita radio wake up Juba morning show said if the land tribunal law is enacted it will solve many court cases related to lands.

He added that the tribunal law will solve the problem because the judicial process is very slow and there are few judges.

Mr Lodu said in tribunal the chief of the local communities and government organize forces will be involved in solving dispute related to land issues.

He added that till now the Commission still has no law that regulates the land policy.

Mr Lodu said Juba the capital city has three main problem of land due to small plots, over population of the people and high value for land.

He added that land grabbing had become a business to many people because they wanted to sell it to investors.

Mr Lodu said still the government has the prerogative to regulate law that governed land policy despite the fact that land belongs to the community.
