An official has called on the South Sudan government’s law enforcement body to enact law that will set the basis for land regulation in the country.

Justice Deng Biong speaking on Bakhita radio wake up Juba morning show said the land act policy that was enacted in 2009 is not being implemented.

He added that the policy set in the act could have helped the country to set the policy for law enactment.

Mr Biong said the land acts was passed out in order to close the gap but still need the authorities to implement it.

Mr Biong said there are no legal frameworks that justify Juba as the national capital city of the country.

He added that the position of Juba is still unclear whether it is the state capital or national capital city for South Sudan.

Mr Biong said the fact that Juba is the capital city for South Sudan; the Mayor could have not been appointed by the state government.

He said conflicts over lands are high because leaders of the city are not representing the people.

Mr Biong said if Juba is to be viable capital city for South Sudan the territorial boundary of the city should be defined.
