The Directorate Nationality and Passports has deployed a team to Torit to issue national certificates and passports to Constitutional post holders and Eastern Equatoria state.
Eastern Equatoria State Assembly Speaker Ambrose Emmanuel Ocholimoi said the state government had requested for the deployment of the passport and nationality team from Juba, Radio Emmanuel reported.Mr Ocholimoi said it is necessary for the Constitutional post holders to possess passports to avoid spending time in processing documents in Juba when assigned foreign missions.
He added that the state leadership is negotiating with the team leader of the delegation to include other government civil servants in the list of people to access passports and nationality certificates in the state.
The nationality certificate and passport is not only for executive, Members of the Assembly and civil servants but is an entitlement to every South Sudanese citizen.
