IOM DONATES 285 BICYCLES AND 56 MOTORBIKES TO THREE STATES

IOM, the International Organization for Migration, today donated 285 bicycles and 56 motorbikes to three states of South Sudan to facilitate the assistance to returnees.

IOM Chief of mission to South Sudan Vincent Houver handing over the vehicles to the chairperson of the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC), Bakhita Radio reported.

He said the donation targeted the states of Jonglei, Central Equatoria and Eastern Equatoria, although all ten states received or will receive means of transport.

RRC chief Peter Lam Both said the bicycles and the motorbikes will be useful by the relief staff to monitor the reintegration of returnees.

He added that most of the local roads are not well built for cars.

Mr Lam thanked the leadership of the IOM for donating the equipments to the RRC.

The donation was presented to the RRC chairperson by the humanitarian affairs to the RRC directors of Jonglei, Central Equatoria and Eastern Equatoria.
