Leer County Relief and Rehabilitation Commission official Wal Yach Gatkuoth wrote in a report that heavy rains in the last two weeks flooded the county.

People, farms and livestock are severely affected by the flooding.

Mr Yach said 900 families were displaced from 16 villages around Leer County and are living with relatives and others people of good will.

He added that the authorities are still collecting information about the severe effects of the floods.
