The Vice President of the Republic launched on Thursday the Performance Management System in South Sudan.
Riek Machar Teny urged all government ministries, commissions and agencies to support the Performance Management System to ensure the delivery of quality services to the public.He said the people of South Sudan had high expectations of their government.
Dr Machar remarked that the adoption of the Performance Management System would ensure expectations were fulfilled efficiently and effectively.
The Vice President said South Sudan is a net importer of most commodities, some of which could be produced locally.
He called for a speedy transformation from a consumer to a productive economy.
Kenya’s Minister for Public Service, Dalmas Otieno, said Performance Management System aims to assist South Sudan to fully exploit its human resource potential and become competitive on the global stage.
Acting national Minister for Labour, Kwong Danhier Gatlwak, said performance management is an effective strategy to marshal the energy and commitment of the entire public service and ensure quality service delivery.
