The International Young Catholic Students (IYCS) said the objectives for their workshop on peace and reconciliation were achieved.

IYCS Pan African Coordinator Michael Adikwu told Bakhita Radio that participants learnt new ways of fostering justice, peace and reconciliation.

He said the workshop achieved its objective because the participants were empowered to carry out decisions locally.

IYCS Pan African group Chaplain Ferdinand Lugonzo praised Juba’s youth√É≈† for their enthusiasm to learn new ideas and see a better future.

Fr Lugonzo revealed that the youth in South Sudan like elsewhere in Africa are striving to improve the living conditions of human beings in their various communities.

The IYCS workshop that drew participants from South Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia and Tanzania concluded Saturday evening in Juba.

In September, the IYCS Chaplains will meet in Cameroon to discuss justice, peace and reconciliation issues.
