A non profit organization launched today in Juba a family planning and sexual reproductive health centre to provide health services and advise women on child birth spacing.
Marie Stopes International Country Director Sara Formisano said the centre allows South Sudanese men and women to decide how many children they want to have.She added that the centre will offer general health services besides family planning and sexual reproductive health.
Ms Formisano explained that the clinic will charge a small fee for its services from clients in order to ensure sustainability when donors stop funding the program.
She added the fees paid in Juba here will also sponsor an outreach mobile clinic that offers sexual reproductive health and family planning services to residents in rural areas.
The clinic will provide birth spacing counselling, contraceptives, antenatal care, and ultrasound exams.
It also carries out diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases.
