Lakes State Minister for Information and Communication has revealed that his Ministry is currently working to launch an official website for the government.
Charles Badiri Mayan, who is also the State’s Government spokesperson made the revelation during the evening phone in live show on Tuesday. Radio Good News reported.He said that the website www.lakestate.org has already been published to allow members of public to take part in the development process before the official launch.
Mr. Mayan pointed out that the decision to establish an official website is primarily to create a participatory link between the Government and the residents particularly those in other parts of South Sudan and the Diaspora.
He encouraged members of public to take advantage of interacting with the government to improve services delivery to the State residents.
Mayan disclosed that public information from the State Government and laws passed by the State Legislative Assembly will be posted on the website.
He said that the site also will be used to promote the Culture and Heritage of communities in Lakes State.
Badiri promised to prioritize improvement of access to information in Lakes State after he was appointed to the Ministry in May 2012.
