The SPLM-Wau County office said it stood for the President’s decision to downsize the Government.
On Monday, Salva Kiir Mayardit announced during the celebration of Independence Day that he will reduce the number of government officials to save on salaries.SPLM-Wau County Secretary Andero Akon Anei said the order came at the right time and it represented the best way for the government to take care of the citizens who are suffering from the lack of basic services, Voice of Hope reported.
He added that the SPLM-Wau was supporting the presidential order as it responded to the policy of taking towns to the villages.
Mr Akon appealed to all the parties in the state to be united so as to deliver better services to people and contribute to development.
He explained that having different parties is important because each can contribute with different ideas and can support peace building.
The secretariat gathered on Wednesday afternoon at the SPLM’s Wau County headquarters.
