An official of an association of Kenyans in Lakes State has appealed to foreigners in South Sudan to have patience with the Government, observing that a lot has been realized after the country gained independence on July 9, last year.

Douglas Masafu is the chairman of the Kenyan Community Welfare Association in Lakes State. He told Good News Radio that things are getting better for foreigners to access services in the relevant government offices and institutions than it was a couple of years ago.

He confirmed that there are isolated cases of misunderstanding between some foreigners and local residents, explaining that such would be expected in an environment where people have been affected by war for a long time.

Kenyan traders Perris Achieng and Hassan Atiafdi appreciated Lakes State Government support and that they are happy because it now easy for foreign traders to run businesses.

Mr Atiafdi added that the traders are experiencing difficulties with cash transfer services.

The three Kenyans were speaking in a event organized by the Association of Kenyans in Lakes State to mark Kenya’s 49th independence anniversary, celebrated every June 1.
