CIVILIANS FLEE TO GOVERNMENT CONTROL AREA IN SOUTH KORDOFAN

More than 80 civilians in Debi and Shuwaya, in South Kordofan, have fled to Dondor, an area under government control, due to hunger that has struck the Nuba Mountains since the war broke out in June last year.

A resident from Debi said hunger forced more than 80 people have run to Dondor.

The resident added that the humanitarian aid is on the way urging the civilians to have patient.

He said civilians are more pressurized by hunger and that is why many people have gone to Dondor which is controlled by the NCP.

The source stated that SPLA-North is also trying its best to bring food to the civilians in the Nuba Mountains.

Last week, more than 40 people in Mendi have been reported to have joined the NCP in Talodi.

The SPLM-North is under pressure to bring food to the civilians who are suffering from hunger in areas under its control.
