The Centenary Cross today went to St. Thomas chapel, in Nzara parish. Many Christians accompanied the cross from the parish church to the chapel.
Parish priest Stephen Kumunyangi told Anisa FM that since the Centenary cross arrived in the parish on the May 12 the number of people coming to the church is increasing every day, to pray and praise day and night.Head catechist Paul Wapi said one woman who could not spend a day without drinking alcohol stopped immediately after seeing the Centenary cross.
Fr. Kumunyangi confirmed that the Centenary Cross has great power because some people got cured.
He said tomorrow the Centenary Cross will visit the market and Nzara Civil Hospital.
On Monday, the cross will move to Namaiku Parish.
The faithful of Namaiku are busy doing general cleaning in preparation to receive the Centenary cross.
The Centenary cross is visiting all parishes and some centres in Tombura-Yambio until December 12 when the diocese celebrates its centenary in Mupoi, the parish where the Comboni missionaries arrived in December 1912 to start the evangelization of Western Equatoria.
