Ms Johnson said UNMISS and the Government of South Sudan will overcome the many obstacles confronting the young nation

National Information and Broadcasting Minister Barnaba Marial Benjamin said the Government and people of South Sudan honour the memory of the UN peacekeepers who lost their lives on duty over the years.

Dr Marial thanked the UN member states which contributed to UNMISS to keep peace and security in South Sudan.

He said the partnership between South Sudan Government and UNMISS is successful.

The occasion started by hoisting the UN flag and awarding medals to the Japanese engineering group that arrived in Juba in April.
