The national Government has expressed deep sorrow for the death of the President of Sudan African Nationalists Union (SANU).
Toby Madut Parek died in Juba Teaching Hospital on Thursday after a long battle with illness.He led SANU since 1964.
Government spokesperson Barnaba Marial Benjamin said the Council of Ministers expressed deep sorrow for the SANU leader’s death and extended their condolences to the family of Dr Madut.
He said Dr Madut was a nationalist who played a great role in the struggle of South Sudan.
The body of Dr Madut will be taken to the National Legislative Assembly on Sunday for MPs to pay their last respects to the late SANU leader.
