Local and international NGOs discussed funding and service delivery to the people of South Sudan and traded accusations of malpractices.

This comes amid rampant criticism against international NGOs for using development funds for their own benefit.

A representative of local NGO told Bakhita Radio that international NGOs receive bigger amounts, including money coming for local NGOs, but do not deliver the services they promise.

Mr Mabior also accused international NGOs of taking aid money to their countries by employing foreigners instead of South Sudanese.

UNOCHA representative Federica Danderica said her agency did not fund local NGOs because they do not present the necessary paperwork.

She requested the local NGOs to present their short and long term strategic plans, including objectives, if they want to receive funds.
