Thieves broke into two offices at the Curia of the Catholic Diocese of Wau taking some computers.
The offices of Vicar General and administration secretary were broken into by thieves on Sunday afternoon.Administration secretary Martin Agostino Dawud told Voice of Hope this morning that when he opened his office on Monday morning he found it in a mess.
He added that the thieves took two computers and broke the door from the Vicar General’s office.
Mr Dawud said the diocese opened a case with CID, the Crime Investigations Department, and the police are already following the robbery.
The secretary revealed that the watchman reported the incidence to him saying he found the door of the Vicar General’s office open around 5 PM, during his usual round.
Mr Dawud noted that the three coffers were safe even though the thieves tried to open them by force.
The secretary added that Curia administration is holding a meeting to discuss security in the offices to protect the properties of the Church.
Mr Dawud called on the community to assist the CID with any information about the break-in.
This was the second time the Wau diocese offices were robbed.
