The Council of Ministers on Friday discussed the map of South Sudan presented by the Vice President Riek Machar Teny.
In a press statement after the meeting, Madut Biar Yel, Minister of Telecommunication and Postal Services who is the acting Government spokesman, said the Cabinet discussed areas claimed by Sudan including, Kaka, Tunja in Shilluk area, Meiram and Kafia Kingi in Northern Bahr El Ghazal State.He announced that South Sudan would produce soon its official map to be given to its negotiating team to be used in the border demarcation talks.
Mr Biar said South Sudan is starting demarcating its borders with the Sudan
He added that the Cabinet also discussed the UN Security Council Resolution 2064 which told the South Sudan and Sudan to cease hostilities and stop supporting militias in one another’s country.
Mr Biar said the resolution called on Sudan to stop aerial bombardment in the South Sudanese territories
He added that the government of South Sudan is ready for negotiations and committed to keep peace with Sudan.
