The national Ministry of Gender in collaboration with some UN agencies, World Bank and civil society organizations are discussing ways to establish a Gender Coordination Forum in South Sudan.
Gender Deputy Minister Priscilla Nyanyang Joseph said today the gender forum aims to create equal opportunities for men and women.She added that the forum will work either through allocated resources and access to information and to employment services supplied by the government.
Dr Nyanyang underlined that the key issue is the empowerment of women with the necessary tools.
The forum brought together about 100 people including UNMISS, UNFPA World Bank and UN Women officials.
