STANDARD BUREAU OFFICIAL CALLS ON TRADERS TO BUILD GOOD STORES

An official from state Standard bureau in western Bahr El- Ghazal capital, Wau has called on all traders in the state to construct good stocking stores to avoid damages of goods related to poor storage conditions.
The Standard Bureau Director, Kuol Deng Majak, told Radio Voice of Hope on April 30 2012 that the check-up exercise conducted in Wau markets on Saturday was aimed at finding expired goods still on sale in the market.

He said about 40 metric turns of goods, especially food commodities, were confiscated from business stores in Wau Markets, and that most of them got damaged due to poor storage.

He stated that the confiscated items will be dumped and burnt, and that his office is going to conduct check-ups frequently, to protect consumers from buying goods that are not fit for consumption. The same exercise will also be conducted in parts of Raja.

He clarified that most expired good were imported from neighbouring countries adding that.
