The delegation of Sudan has walked out from the talks with South Sudan on post independence issues that resumed in the Ethiopian Capital early on the week.

Sudan announced it left the talks mediated by the African Union in protest for SPLA’s occupation of Higlig oil fields in the Sudan.

Sudan Armed Forces recognized that the SPLA occupied the oil-rich region of Higlig on Tuesday.

Sudanese government spokesman Rabie Abdelaty told the press that South Sudan has declared war on Sudan.

He added that Sudan was ready to defend every inch of its territory.

The AU, who mediates the talks between South Sudan and Sudan under the leadership of Thabo Mbeki, urged the SPLA to retreat its troops from Sudanese territory.
