KIIR URGES CENTRAL EQUATORIA CITIZENS TO STICK TO CONSTITUTION

The President of the Republic told the citizens of Central Equatoria to respect the Transitional Constitution the Governor signed this morning in Juba.

President Salva Kiir Mayardit congratulated the people and the government of Central Equatoria for the new Transitional Constitution and the swearing-in of governor Clement Wani Konga.

President Kiir said the Constitution is a tool that will control people in the state, adding that nobody is above the law.

He called on the people of Central Equatoria to protect the Constitution because it will regulate relations between the government and citizens.

President Kiir warned individuals who may want to change the Constitution in order to be re-elected.

He advised the government and citizens of Central Equatoria to respect the Constitution because it leads to progress.

Hundreds of people including state governors, MPs, and other dignitaries, gathered this morning at Juba Football Stadium to witness the signing of the Central Equatoria Transitional Constitution and Governor Wani’s oath of office.
