The administration of the Catholic Diocese of El Obeid, in the Sudan, has distributed school materials to pupils in Nuba Mountains.
Saints Peter and Paul Primary head teacher Joseph Daud told the participants at a Parents and Teachers Association meeting from different schools that the Church decided to share learning materials with other schools in the region.He added that the Catholic schools are not going to open this year in Nuba Mountains.
The material distributed includes chalk, pens, exercises books, textbooks and some balls.
Alim Hessen, who teaches at Uhuru Primary, said his school has only one blackboard rotating in three classes.
Many teachers appreciated the gesture from the education department of diocese of El Obeid to assist them with various teaching materials.
