The war that rages over Nuba Mountains since the beginning of June of 2011 is stretching the capacity of a local hospital caring for the victims of bombs and bullets, including children who lost limbs.

A male nurse said this week the hospital was treating over 220 wounded people from gunshots and Antonov bombs and many patients were improving.

A doctor working at the facility said the war overloaded the hospital.

He explained that last month he performed 70 surgeries, both major and minor.

He said the hospital is there to help people who need help.

Yesterday, actor and activist George Clooney accused Sudan of committing war crimes against the people of Nuba Mountains in his testimony before the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee after he visited the area last week.

His video George Clooney witnesses war crimes in Sudan’s Nuba Mountains is posted on YouTube.
