Greater Equatoria should receive an above normal amount of rain between March and May, good news for farmers and herders.
The Consensus Outlook Forecast for March to May indicates that South Sudan is likely to receive normal to above normal rainfall, and that rain levels are more likely to be above normal than below, the UN OCHA South Sudan weekly bulletin reported. The positive impact of the forecast will be felt in Greater Equatoria, where the March-May season accounts for 40 to 60 per cent of annual food production.
The rains could slow down humanitarian supplies if the roads are not passable.
