An uncle wanted to force a 15-year old niece to drop school and marry a man he chose.
The girl ran from the house after her uncle beat her several times for refusing to marry.She told Bakhita Radio that her mother accepted the decision of the uncle to marry her for 17 thousand Pounds.
She added that her uncle advised her to accept the man and leave him after her family receive the bride money.
She explained that it was not good to deceive herself with a man she did not want.
The underage girl said her uncle’s proposal was against her wishes because she did not reach marriage age and she wanted to continue her education.
She added that her dad is in Upper Nile and she will marry only if both her dad and her uncle give her a very good reason to do so.
The girl said police and state authorities visited her uncle’s home to investigate the issue.
