The SPLA-North attack to the Sudanese Armed Forces barrack in Delen, South Kordofan, was meant to warn civilians to evacuate to safer places before an all-out assault takes place.
Heiban Cunty SPLM-N chairman Younan Al-Barut said that their forces attacked the barrack of Delen to signal to civilians to abandon the town.He said the SPLA-North has the strength to defeat the Sudanese army in Delen.
Mr Al-Barut added that many of the people living in Delen are Nuba children but are been held hostage by the government.
He added that the Sudanese administration says that the SPLA-North cannot take Delen without taking first Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan.
