A minister in the national government claimed that the local communities have accepted the construction of the new capital of South Sudan in Ramciel.

National Minister for Housing and Physical Planning Jema Nunu Kumba told the press yesterday that the locals have welcomed the construction of the new capital in Ramciel, Bakhita Radio reported.

She said her office will continue to dialogue with the local communities over some unspecified remaining issues.

Ms Kumba explained that individual members of the Ramciel community expressed different views but her office negotiates with the community as a whole.

The minister made these statements after the official signing of a contract with a South Korean company to carry out feasibility studies and map the new location for the capital in Ramciel.
