The Government of South Sudan denied it is not supporting the newly formed opposition group fighting Khartoum in South Kordofan and Blue Nile.

Government spokesperson Barnaba Marial Benjamin said neither the government nor the army were involved in the clashes in South Kordofan.

He added that South Sudan does not support the Sudan Revolutionary Front fighting in the two embattled Sudanese states.

Dr Marial said the Khartoum government should get a clear message that Juba is not giving any support to the Sudanese rebels.

Four rebel groups Ð Justice and Equality Movement, Sudan Liberation Movement, Mini Minawi and Wahid Mohamed Nour factions and SPLM-North Ð last year formed the Sudan Revolutionary Front to topple the NCP regime.

The group launched its first joint military action with success last weekend against Sudan Armed Forces in Southern Kordofan near the border with South Sudan.
