An English catholic international charity concluded a two-week inspection of the areas where it planted some services.

Catholic Fund for Overseas Development (CAFOD) officials visited Maridi, Yei and Nzara where the charity drilled some community boreholes.

CAFOD’s Press Secretary Nana Antto told Bakhita Radio that her organization was inspecting the condition of the wells they drilled in Central and Eastern Eqautoria.

She said CAFOD is ready to help South Sudan rebuild its infrastructure and offer some services to the people of the new nation.

Ms Antto added that CAFOD planned to extend its services to Upper Nile and Bahr el Ghazal areas.

She concluded that CAFOD was working with the Catholic Church to support water access projects like repairing and building boreholes.

The charity also provides tools and seeds for subsistence farming.

CAFOD has been working in South Sudan for nearly 30 years through Catholic Church partners.
