Doctors at Juba Teaching hospital have suspended their normal duties today in protest for better living conditions.

Dut Stephen told to Bakhita radio this afternoon that the medics are sitting down after numerous attempts to settle outstanding issues affecting their duties including lack of equipment and two months of unpaid salaries.

He explained that doctors do not have water or electricity at their quarters in the hospital and cannot take proper care of their hygiene.

Dr Dut said patients are charged two pounds for his service, but he does not know who is charging and where the money goes.

The medic said the doctors are not on strike but suspended normal duties until their complaints are met by the Juba Teaching Hospital administration.
