The Murle community is underrepresented in the Jonglei State and it is calling on the Government to offer them more positions in order to solve the inter-ethnic issues.

Jodi Jonglei, a Murle MP representing Gumruk payam and security adviser in Jonglei state, told Bakhita Radio in Juba that his community felt underrepresented in Jonglei Government.

He explained that there are one Murle minister and one adviser in the state Government.

He said MPs from the Murle community will table the issue at the state Assembly.

Mr Jodi said the Murle MPs will raise again the motion at the House six months after the first attempt to increase the Murle representation in the state Government failed.

He said the Murle community was lobbying in order to have the claim accepted.

Mr Jodi in a previous interview said there was a need for the Murle community to have separate state in order to arrest the recycling inter-ethnic conflict involving Murle, Lou Nuer and Dinka communities in Jonglei State.
