The UN agency for children said it is ready to assist girl child education both in primary and secondary schools in Tonj South County of Warrap State.
Tonj South County deputy education director Maker Machar told Radio Don Bosco yesterday that UNICEF promised to provide the school requirements to girls studying at in 45 schools in the county.He said UNICEF will provide comfort kits for girls in addition to books and food to support them in their families.
Mr Machar added that the organization will help to build houses, toilets and fences for teachers in the new primary school of Pawel and provide food for work in all the schools of Tonj South County.
He said UNICEF will inspect all schools to see if that have stores, kitchens and latrines.
The agency also promised to train the board of directors of secondary schools, and Parents and Teachers Associations to help them manage their schools.
