Almost 50 participants concluded a five-days Training of Trainers on Trauma and Counselling in the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba between 12 to 17 January this year.
The participants were awarded certificates of attendance yesterday in the presence of the Vicar General of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba, Nicholas Kiri Bate.Addressing the graduates, Fr. Kiri said the training was intended to benefit the entire people of God because the Church shares in the joy and sorrow of its people.
Fr. Kiri urged the participants to translate the knowledge they learned for the benefit of the people they are going to serve.
He called upon the new counsellors to collaborate in order to achieve the purpose of the trauma healing training.
He added that success in the ministry of counselling and trauma healing can properly be enhanced when counsellors have strong believe and faith in God.
The training drew participants from various parishes of the Archdiocese including assistant parish priests, youth leaders and heads of departments.
