The Director General at the National Directorate of Nationality, Passports and Immigration has again reiterated the government’s call on all foreigners to access legal documents to guarantee their stay in South Sudan.
Speaking to Bakhita Radio this morning in Juba, Augustino Maduot Parek said his ministry’s decision to request documents from the foreigners was intended to legalize their stay in the country and evict criminals who entered illegally in South Sudan.He stressed that the government is against people who are smuggled illegally in the country by means of human trafficking
Mr Maduot added that those entered legally into South Sudan through its borders or airports are welcomed and the government is ready to serve them with the relevant documents because some of them come to invest and contribute to the development of the new nation.
He said the government is against people who entered the country using unlawful means and are committing crimes such as theft, smuggling, and human trafficking against the nation.
Hundreds of foreigners in Juba were seen today at the National Directorate of Nationality, Passports and Immigration to process their legal papers.
