The Country Director of a medical charity organization was killed by unknown gunmen on Saturday evening in Juba.
AMREF, the African Medical and Research Foundaton, said in a statement that Alemayehu Seifu, 46, was gunned down on Saturday evening at the gate of his house in the outskirts of Juba.
The killers ran away with his car and other personal belongings.
The government has launched investigations into the incident but no arrest has been made so far.
Dr Seifu’s body was flown to Ethiopia on Sunday and was laid to rest at his home near Addis Ababa.
AMREF assigned Joseph Lipua, South Sudan Programme Manager, to run the office until the Country Director is appointed.
